Friday, September 25, 2026 at 9:30am-1:00pm: “Annual Kick-off and Basics of Firearms” Refresh your skills on universal safety rules, loading, proper grip, shooting skills and the four point draw. The Gila May-Hayes drill will be used to track progress throughout the year. Holster required for this class. (Chris Edwards and Paul Gay) Donation of $20.00 Suggested for Non-Members

Friday, November 13, 2026 at 12:00pm-4:00pm: “Competition Clinic” This course is designed for new competitive shooters looking to learn how to build better stage plans, faster target transitions, with more accurate follow up shots. This course will focus on PSCL rules and targets, but fundamentals can be applied to many other competitive shooting disciplines. (Will Sanders) Donation of $20.00 Suggested for Non-Members


Friday, December 4, 2026 at 10:00am-12:00pm: “Christmas In The Woods” ARCHERY ABC’s (Chris Dover), Bigun’s BBQ to follow. Donation of $10.00 Suggested for Non-Members, Bring a “Safety Related” Ornament or Christmas Decoration valued under $15.00 for a Secret Santa Gift Exchange.


Friday, January 22, 2027 at 10:00am-12:00pm: “Range Bag Essentials” This class will meet at Appalachian Gun Range in Jasper, GA. We will discuss and be able to purchase “must haves” for your Range Bag. Optional live fire at the indoor range following. (Cindy Wahlig).

Friday, February 19, 2027 at 10:00am-1:00pm: “Rifle Ready: Give it a Shot” Learn the basics of handling and shooting a rifle. No experience required for this class. (Shashi Naidu/John White) Donation of $10.00 Suggested for Non-Members


Friday, March 19, 2027 at 9:30am-1:00pm: “Chris’ Cliffsnotes” This class will be designed to review your basics but tweak your shooting to get you ready for next month’s Gila May-Hayes drill. (Chris Barrett) Donation of $20.00 Suggested for Non-Members


Friday, April 30, 2027 at 9:30am-1:00pm: “Year-end Wrap-up: This is what we trained for!” End of the year tracking to measure your improvement throughout the year. The Gila May-Hayes drill will be used to track progress from 2026-2027. Holster required for this class. (Chris Edwards and Paul Gay) Donation of $20.00 Suggested for Non-Members

MISSION

To promote the education of women regarding guns and gun safety while encouraging camaraderie and the formal education of women through the PPP Fund.

 

DEFINITIONS:


  • Member: A female member of PCSC. If an event or class is limited in number, a Member will always have priority over a Non-member. As budget permits, various shooting events will be covered by the PP Annual Budget. However, Members may be asked to contribute funds toward advanced or detailed training in advance of registration.
  • Non-Member: A spouse or child (18-22 at home) of a PCSC member. Non-Members will be asked to donate a nominal amount for each training session or activity. The amount recommended will depend on the event and is at the discretion of the Non-Member. This money will go to the Pickens Pistols Annual Budget or the PPP Fund.
  • Frank: A male or spouse of a female PCSC member that has donated his time and energy to helping the Pickens Pistols. Affectionately, named after Frank E. Butler, Annie Oakley’s husband.

 

The Pickens Pistols Purpose (“PPP"): The fund started to help promote the formal education of a Pickens Pistol Member or Non-Member. 

 

OBJECTIVE: To meet monthly on a regular basis, alternating between Saturdays and Thursdays of every month. The planning committee reserves the right to change these dates and times with advance notice.
